Gary L. Doepke, 69, of Washburn, ND, died October 21, 2021 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck.  Memorial services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Washburn Baptist Church, Washburn with Pastor Rick Torkelson officiating.  Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.  The memorial service will be livestreamed at the bottom of his obituary on the Goetz Funeral Home website.

Gary LaVern Doepke was born in Bismarck, ND on April 15, 1952, the son of Darol and Ella (Schacher) Doepke.  He was raised and educated in Fergus Falls, MN, where he graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1970.  Gary also attended an aviation college in Missouri, where he received his degree in aviation.

Gary married Donna Amor in Fargo, ND on March 1, 1975.  Following their marriage, they lived in Fargo where Gary worked for Service Auto Glass, installing windshields.  The Doepke family moved to Washburn in 1982 where Gary worked as a boiler attendant at Basin Electric.  He retired from Basin in 2015 after having a heart transplant in 2014.

Gary enjoyed attending and teaching many bible studies.  He also loved woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a member of Washburn Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and enjoyed helping his daughter, Tami with the youth group.  Gary will always be remembered for his love of socializing.

Gary is survived by his wife, Donna of Washburn, ND; his daughter, Tami (Alex) Acevedo of Washburn, ND; son, Jeremy (Ashley) Doepke of Almont, ND; seven grandchildren:  Alexis, James and Isaiah Acevedo and McKenzee, Connor, Alyvia and Kaden Doepke; three brothers:  Dwight Deopke of Colorado Springs, CO, Timothy (Marty) Doepke of Grand Junction, CO and Robert (Nancy) Doepke of Bismarck, ND; two sisters:  Carol (Mike) Kvenvolden of Sioux Falls, SD and Barbara Doepke of Sioux Falls, SD and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Kathy Doepke.
