Garry M. Schauer, age 65 of Underwood, ND passed away September 23, 2010 at his home.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Monday, Sept. 27th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Underwood with Pastor Dean Hartley officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

A time of sharing will be held at 7:30 PM Sunday at the church.

Garry was born March 1, 1945 in Underwood, ND to Robert & Irene (Johnson) Schauer. He was raised and educated in Underwood and graduated from high school in 1964. He married Judy Helm on August 10, 1968 in Spokane, WA. They lived in Beloit, WI for eight years where Garry worked for the Fairbanks Morris Company. In 1974, they moved to Underwood and Garry worked as a custodian for the school for two years. Garry was then employed by Cooperative Power Association (CPA) as a maintenance worker for nineteen years. He retired from CPA (now Great River Energy) in 1997. Garry worked part-time as a security officer for Falkirk Mine for several years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and served as a Sunday school teacher. Garry loved hunting and fishing with his family, especially his twin brother Larry. Garry enjoyed gardening, visiting with friends and family, and spending time with his special dog, Brittany.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Schauer of Underwood; two sons, Jason (Melissa) Schauer & Steven Schauer, both of Underwood; grandsons, Brandyn & Andy; a twin brother, Larry Schauer of Garrison; two sisters, Ruby Kroll of Beloit, WI & Joyce Stearns of Flagstaff, AZ; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
