Obituary

Frank Walsh, age 81 of Washburn, ND died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at a Bismarck hospital.

Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Friday, March 9, 2007;
St. Edwin's Catholic Church - Washburn, ND;
Rev. Frank J. Schuster, Celebrant;

Interment: Riverview Cemetery - Washburn, ND;

Visitation: Friday, 1 hour prior to time of service at the church.

Frank Martin Walsh was born October 24, 1925 at Medford, Massachusetts. He attended school in Medford and graduated from high school in 1943. He attended college
pre-medical classes before enlisting in the U.S. Navy on October 4, 1943. Frank served during World War II and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy on April 2, 1946.
Following his military discharge, Frank studied to become a catholic priest for several years. He married Harriett E. Ritta on April 15, 1953. They lived in several locations throughout the United States as Frank was employed as a Master Pipefitter for the Plumbers Union Local 12. Frank and Harriett moved to Underwood, ND in 1975 and then to Washburn in 1978. Frank was an expert stained glass craftsman, making many beautiful items out of stained glass. He was a member of the Victor B. Wallin American Legion Post #12 and his hobbies included archery and dart throwing. Harriett, his wife of 50 years, passed away on April 27, 2003. Frank continued to make his home in Washburn until the time of his death.

He is survived by his special friends, the Trudy & Jeff Shoemaker family of Washburn, ND, 5 brothers, Robert Walsh of Hawaii, Joseph Walsh of Weymouth, MA, Henry Walsh of Weymouth, NA, Thomas Walsh of St. Petersburg, FL, & David Walsh of Palmer, MA; 2 sisters, Teresa Walsh of Woodstock, GA, & Sister Theresa of Jesus of Pittsford, NY; Frank will be especially missed by his companion cat, Missy.
