Francis Wagner Jr., 45, Washburn, ND died September 6, 2016 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Cremation has taken place and a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM Saturday September 10, 2016 at St. Edwin's Catholic Church, Washburn. Father Patrick Cunningham and Deacon Keith Due will officiate. There will be a Vigil/Wake service at 7:00 PM Friday September 9, 2016 also at the church. Family will greet friends and relatives one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Francis was born October 28, 1970 in Turtle Lake, ND the son of Francis "Jim" Sr. and Ann E. (Ekstrom) Wagner. He was raised and educated in Underwood, Riverdale and Washburn. Francis graduated from Washburn High School in 1989. He also attended Bismarck Junior College and North Dakota School of Science in Wahpeton. Francis graduated with an associate's degree in Electrical Technology. He married Michele Schaefer on January 12, 1991 at St. Edwin's Catholic Church. To this union a daughter, Tawny was born. Francis worked as a construction electrician for the electrical union until 2006. He moved back to Washburn where he worked as a laborer.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, watching NASCAR, and spending time with family and friends.

Grateful to have shared in Francis's life include in his daughter, Tawny Wagner of Mandan, ND; his father, Francis "Jim" Wagner Sr.; his brothers, Scott J. (Denise) Wagner of Denton, TX, Tim J. (Lisa) Wagner of Elk River, MN; 5 nieces and nephews, Grant and Eli Wagner, Ashley, Cody and Aaron Wagner and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Francis was preceded in death by his mother Ann; a brother, Michael James Wagner and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
