Our loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Florence O'Shea, 95, formerly of Turtle Lake, ND passed away peacefully on October 5, 2020 at Souris Valley Care Center, Velva.  A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 14 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Turtle Lake with Fr. Patrick Cunningham officiating.  Interment will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Florence was born on July 23, 1925 at the family farm near Douglas, ND, the daughter of Nels Sr. and Hilda (Kuntz) Narum.  She attended grade school at Crystal School, 3 miles from home and graduating from Douglas High School in 1943.  Florence received a teaching certificate from Minot State College and taught at several country schools near Douglas, Walcott and Emmet.  Florence married Robert O'Shea on May 15, 1947 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison.  They shared 70 years of marriage until he preceded her in death in 2017.  They farmed near Douglas and Emmet, ND before moving to their farm east of Turtle Lake in 1962.

Florence was known for her gentle spirit, kind heart and her lefse.  We enjoyed our lefse making days.  She loved spending time with her sisters.  They would talk and giggle for hours.  She loved to care for her grandchildren and join their sing-a-longs.  Florence and Bob loved to dance.  Our hearts are full as we know they are now together waltzing around Heaven.  Most of all Florence loved her family.

She was the beloved mother of:  Darrel (Zona) O'Shea of Turtle Lake, ND,   Jerry (Linda) O'Shea of Bismarck, ND, Laurie (Joy) O'Shea of Broomfield, CO and Kim (Dennis) Kurle of Mercer, ND; she especially treasured her grandchildren: Dawn (Warren) Bergquist, Brian (Amber) O'Shea, Dusty (Todd) Sondrol, Chelsey (Matthew) Best, Trevor O'Shea, Patrick (Lovely) O'Shea, Thomas (Jenny) O'Shea, Meghan (Graham) McManamin, Anne (Brent) Earsley and Casey (Michelle) Kurle; Grandma Great was adored by her 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.  Florence is also survived by her sister, Isabel (Gene) Groninger of Doulgas, ND; brothers:  Nels (Marion) Narum of Garrison, ND Gailen Narum of Billings, MT; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Narum of Douglas, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Gladys (Wilfred) Bakko and Hazel (John) O'Shea; brothers:  Norman (Grace) Narum, Melvin (Thelma) Narum, Harold Narum, Hilbert Narum and a sister-in-law:  Edna Narum

Florence will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
