Eugene D. Levey, age 57 of Underwood, ND died Monday, September 29 of natural causes near Benedict, ND.

Interment: Greatstone Cemetery – Greatstone Township, rural Ruso, ND;

Visitation: 4:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at Goetz Funeral Home – Underwood;
Friday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Eugene "Gene" was born March 15, 1951 in Minot, ND to Frank & Alma (Oxentenko) Levey. He grew up on the family farm near Benedict, ND and attended the Max Baptist Church & Greatstone Baptist Church. Gene accepted the Lord as his Savior, and was baptised in Minot, ND. Gene attended grade school in Minot and Benedict and graduated from Max High School in 1969. He continued his education at the University of North Dakota where he wrestled for the Fighting Sioux. Gene was a member of the Phi Delta Theta. He married Palma Kinn on August 12, 1972 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Benedict, ND. Gene worked for Lindteigen Construction and other construction companies for several years. He and Palma moved to Underwood in 1974 and started a family. Gene was a member of the Local 300(597) Pipefitters Union since 1978. In 1984, Gene and Palma started their own family business, Levey's Plumbing, Heating, & Air. He was a board member of the Underwood Rural Fire District and attended the Underwood Baptist Church. Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on the family farm. He loved music, singing, going for drives in the country, socializing, and telling stories especially around the campfire. Gene was a longtime member of the Coal Creek Country Band. His family life was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his wife and three sons. Gene is remembered for his love for everyone around him.

He is survived by his wife, Palma Levey of Underwood; three sons, Jason (Danielle) Levey of Underwood, Justin Levey (Arica Malsam) of Underwood, & Jared (Erika) Levey of Underwood; four brothers, Perry (Becky) Levey of Fremont, CA, Jeff Levey of Benedict, Brian (Donna) Levey of Turtle Lake, & George (Judy) Levey of Washburn; three sisters-in-law, Lucille (Bob) Johnson of Ruso, Gelina Johnson of Coleharbor, & Oleeta (Walter) Rime of Underwood; three brothers-in-law, Wendell Kinn of Coleharbor, Marvin (Joan) Kinn of Coleharbor, & Curtis (Val) Kinn of Underwood;
& numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Gene was preceded in death by his daughter (Shannon), parents (Frank & Alma),
one brother (Mark), & mother & father-in-law (Ole & Lillian Kinn).
