Emil Korner, age 85 of Underwood, ND, died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the Turtle Lake Community Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at a later date due to prior family commitments. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, October 26, 2007 at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake. Interment will follow at Turtle Lake Cemetery.

Emil was born August 17, 1922 at Turtle Lake, ND the son to John & Katie (Walker) Korner. He was raised on the family farm and attended rural school. Emil helped his father and mother with the farm for several years. He married Marcella Brokofsky on March 4, 1946 at Washburn, ND. Together they raised eight children and made their home in the Turtle Lake area. On March 4, 2006, Emil and Marcella celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

He is survived by his Wife of 61 years, Marcella Korner of Turtle Lake, ND;
Daughters, Mary L. Miller of Madera, CA, Joyce McCray of Coleharbor, ND, Kathy Poeppel of Washburn, ND, Sally Berg-Gjdos of Florence, KY, Nancy Zueger of Rice Lake, WI; Son, Myron Korner of Vacaville, CA;
13 Grandchildren, & 13 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters (Margie Ann Korner & Sharon Kennelly), and twelve brothers and sisters.
