Elsie Sellon, age 96 of Turtle Lake, ND died June 7th, 2013 at the Sanford Health St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M Wednesday, June 12th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Turtle Lake. Burial will follow in the Darling Cemetery, northwest of Turtle Lake.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Goetz Funeral Home in Turtle Lake followed by a family service at 8:00 P.M.

Elsie was born October 7th, 1916 in Parkston, SD to John F. & Katherine (Rothmann) Walcker. At the age of 3, she moved with her family to North Dakota . They settled in the Turtle Lake area where they farmed and Elsie attended rural schools. She married Harold Sellon on March 25th, 1935. Harold and Elsie made their home on a farm west of Turtle Lake and later moved into Turtle Lake in 1976. Elsie was a member of the United Methodist Church of Turtle Lake and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was employed at the Community Memorial Hospital from 1970 to 1979. She also worked at the Turtle Lake Senior Center for a number of years. Elsie was an avid bowler and bowled until the age of 93, most notably attending a national bowling tournament in Reno, NV at the age of 90. Elsie received many awards and trophies over her 46 years of bowling. Another great interest of Elsie's was gardening. She loved her gardens and would grow a huge vegetable garden every year while living on the farm. She also maintained several Juneberry bushes and a strawberry patch. Elsie would pick large pans of Juneberries and strawberries in one picking and share them with family and friends. She enjoyed playing games such as Rummikub, Aggravation, and Yahtzee with her children and grandchildren.

Elsie is survived by four children, Virginia (John) Down of Haddonfield, NJ, Marilyn (Kenneth) Sondrol of Turtle Lake, Harvey (Sharon) Sellon of Coleharbor, & Vicky (Todd) Jueth of Bismarck; twelve grandchildren, Shelby (Jake) Tweeten, Tonya (Mark) Papka, Kara Kae (Jasen) Reiser, Shane (Dawn) Sellon, Trisha (Jesse) Eckroth, Todd (Dusty) Sondrol, Scott (Cyndy) Sondrol, Lisa (Bryan) Olschlager, Karissa (Darrin) Rittenbach, Kendra (Kenny) Howard, Amanda & Kelsey Jueth; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; five sisters, Leona Urban, Bertha Holberg, Freida Voth, MaryAnn Seidler, & Helen Smith; and three brothers, Fred, Jack, & Virgil Walcker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Harold), sister (Maggie), three brothers (Ted, John, & Arnold), one grandson (Travis Sellon), & one great-granddaughter (Tiffany Green).
