Elsie Darr, age 87 of Williston, ND, formerly of Washburn, ND, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston.

Interment: Riverview Cemetery - Washburn, ND

Visitation: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home - Washburn

Elsie was born March 17, 1918 at rural Washburn, ND the daughter to John & Rosina (Schatz) Schuler. She lived on the family farm and attended rural school until she began high school in Washburn. Elsie married Richard Darr on May 19, 1936 in Milbank, South Dakota. To this union four children were born, Walter, Anna, Charles, and Betty. Elsie sold Avon and Fuller Brush products and was employed as a cook for the Washburn Public Schools. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Washburn and participated in the Ladies Fellowship groups. Elsie enjoyed bowling with her friends in the afternoon leagues and also enjoyed walking and doing aerobics. Activities such as baking, sewing, and making various crafts occupied her free time as well as special outings with her cousin, Emma Schuler. Elsie loved to travel and made frequent visits to her children in California. She was a dedicated mother to all of her children and enjoyed three trips to Germany and a family cruise in 1998. Elsie loved to care for her granddogs and grandcats.



She is survived by her four children: Walter (Beth) Darr of Williston, ND, Anna Setzekorn of Modesto, CA, Charles (Pamela) Darr of Modesto, CA; Betty (Gregory) Hanson of West Fargo, ND; nine Grandchildren: Bradley Darr, Debra (Len) Boucher, Jeff (Jen) Darr, Amy Bykonen, Eric Setzekorn, Lindsey Setzekorn, Terrie (Bill) Good, Kendall Darr, & Nicholas Hanson;

three Great Grandchildren: Ty Boucher, Sydnee Boucher, & Logen Darr;

three Sisters: Viola Peterson of Fargo, ND, Sarah Kleinschmidt of Bismarck, ND, & Esther Nathan of Denver, CO; Elsie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Richard), 3 sisters, 1 brother, 1 son-in-law, and 2 daughters-in-law.
