Elsie was born Dec. 20, 1915 on the family farm south of Mercer, ND to John Sr. & Margaret (Deile) Schell. She attended school in Park District 1 south of Mercer. Elsie was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Mercer. She married Emil Bossert on Sept. 8, 1940 in Turtle Lake and together they farmed southwest of Mercer until 1977. They moved to Turtle Lake in 1977 where they built a home. Emil passed away on April 10, 1984 and Elsie continued to make her home in Turtle Lake until 2002 when she moved to the Edgewood Vista in Bismarck. She lived in Bismarck until August 2010 when she became a resident of the Ave Maria Village in Jamestown where she was closer to her family. Elsie loved to quilt, crochet, and play pinochle with her family and friends. She most enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and made sure no one left her home hungry. Elsie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Eugene (Dianne) Bossert of Park River, ND; & Steven (Lynnelle) Bossert of Jamestown, ND; six grandchildren & six great-grandchildren, Kory (Julie) Bossert and children Jameson & Ella of Hot Springs, SD, Kevin (Gwynne) Bossert and children Ethan & Liam of Deer Lodge, MT, Kelly (Julie) Bossert and children Karter & Jackson of Jamestown, ND, Trevor Bossert of Jefferson City, MO, Amity Bossert (special friend Brian Quam) of West Fargo, & Tanner Bossert (special friend Angie Hornung) of Fargo, ND. Elsie was the last surviving member of her family and will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends she made throughout her lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her husband (Emil), parents, her step-mother (Christina Kramer-Schell), four brothers (John Jr., Gottlieb, Julius, & Edwin), and three sisters (Frieda Schindler, Hilda Bucholz, & Emma Schell).
