Elizabeth Geigle, age 100 of Underwood, ND, formerly of Washburn, ND, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood.

Elizabeth "Betty" was born April 6, 1906 in rural Kidder County, North Dakota, the daughter to Andrew & Fredreka (Schulz) Albrecht. She was raised and educated in Kidder County and later lived on a farm east of Washburn. She married Reinhold Geigle on March 22, 1924 at Washburn. They made their home in Washburn where Reinhold worked for the Ottertail Power Plant. Elizabeth worked for Oscar Nordquist at the Washburn Hotel for many years and also picked potatoes for Martin Hoyer. She was a long time member of the Washburn Baptist Church and was active with the Sunday School program and the Ladies Aid Circle. Her husband Reinhold passed away in May 1979. Elizabeth became a active member of the Washburn Senior Center. In her lifetime, she enjoyed singing, walking with her friends, sewing, gardening and canning her produce. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She became a resident of the Prairieview Nursing Home in November 1999.
She is survived by two Daughters, Marlene (George) Swanson of Bismarck, ND, & Clara Smith of San Diego, CA; 5 Grandchildren, Dean (Sandy) Swanson, George L. (Val Rae) Swanson, Sandi (Jon) Strinden, Debra (Bob) Nelson, & Dianna Pierce; 11 Great Grandchildren, Erica Swanson, Ashley Swanson, Jordan Swanson, Paul Swanson, Tim Swanson, Andrew Strinden, Daniel Strinden, Emily Strinden, Samantha Nelson, Rebecca Nelson, & Dreama Madrid; 1 Great-Great Grandson, Sean Madrid; & 1 Sister, Marie Boggs of Monroe, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, & 5 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Washburn Baptist Church or the Medcenter One Foundation.
