Elaine G. Rodgers, 77, of Underwood, ND died Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Medcenter One Prairieview, Underwood. Services will be held on Monday, October 11, 2010 at 10:30 AM CST at Augustana Lutheran Church in Underwood with Pastor Joel Sherer officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Underwood City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM CST on Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home, Underwood.

Elaine was born on July 4, 1933 in Underwood to Edward and Katie (Prigge) Schauer. She attended school in Turtle Lake, ND. Elaine married Emil Schmidt in Turtle Lake on September 26, 1949. She later married Herbert Schafer on September 27, 1953 also in Turtle Lake. On November 22, 1987 she married Leland Rodgers in Underwood. Elaine was a cook at Prairieview Nursing Home for many years.
Elaine loved music. She enjoyed playing the accordion, piano, organ and singing for different occasions. She enjoyed belonging to her accordion club, which would often play at the nursing home, as well as acting out comical skits at the Senior's Center. She enjoyed traveling, loved to garden and her flowers, liked cats, raising chickens and was a talented seamstress.

Elaine is survived by three daughters, Linda (Steve) Lamb of Tucson, AZ, Mavis (Charly) Cummings of Berthold, ND and Ardis (Randy) Sullivan of Townsend, MT,; one son, Curtis Schafer of Cedar Rapids, IA; three grandchildren, Stephanie Thompson of Phoenix, AZ, Ross and Morgan Cummings of Berthold,ND; two brothers, Norman (Jeanne) Schauer of Mountain View, MO and Emanuel (Beatrice) Schauer of Underwood; and many nieces and nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother, Donald.
