Edna R. Duhr, 91, Hensler, ND died September 25, 2019 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND.  Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Washburn United Methodist Church with Pastor Cory Thrall officiating.

Edna Ruth (Link) Duhr was born on March 18, 1928 to Gottlieb and Dorothea (Boeshans) Link north of Golden Valley, ND. She graduated from Golden Valley High School and then attended Dickinson State Teacher's College, graduating in 1947. She taught in country schools in the area and eventually taught at the Hickle School south of Hensler. She met John Duhr at a wedding dance and on July 26, 1960, Edna and John Duhr were united in marriage at Golgotha Lutheran Church. They farmed together on the Duhr farm south of Hensler. John died in May of 2016. Edna stayed at the farm living with her daughter, Dorthy until March of 2019, when she moved to St. Vincent's Continuing Care Center in Bismarck where she greatly loved the staff.

She enjoyed playing cards especially pinochle and cribbage, reading, visiting and having coffee and cookies with friends and family. She enjoyed being part of the United Methodist church, initially in Center and then later in Washburn.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Dorthy Duhr of Hensler, ND, Donna (Daniel) Horwitz of Waukesha, WI, and Carol Duhr (Kevin Connelly) of Westby, WI; four grandchildren, Kalila, Johan and Garrin Horwitz and Alison Connelly; one sister, Lydia Brecht (Mike Czirfusz) of Alberta, Canada and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters, Anna Link, Esther Richau, Ida Backfish and a brother, Leo Link and an infant sister and brother.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Washburn or Center Ambulance services or St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck- designate Activities Dept. or Rose Park.
