Doris (Makeeff) Lindteigen, 87, Turtle Lake, ND passed away August 2, 2021 into the presence of the Lord at St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Turtle Lake Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Vetter officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the Goetz Funeral Home website, below the obituary. Interment will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Doris was born into the family of Emanuel and Rosella (Freid) Makeeff on May 7, 1934 in Mercer. She attended country grade school at the Brush Lake School. She also attended the Mercer High School where graduating from in 1952. Doris attended Minot State Teachers College during the summer sessions and taught country school in the winter. She taught in the Ruso and Strawberry Lake area and that is when she met Merle Lindteigen. They were married on November 4, 1956 in Turtle Lake. They farmed in the Ruso and Strawberry Lake area until 1983 when their son took over the farm. They then moved into Turtle Lake. Merle continued to help out on the farm and Doris worked for the Turtle Lake Mercer School as a full time bus driver for 20 years. When Doris retired, she continued to substitute for regular drivers and also drove for activities for another 12 plus years.
Doris was surrenderd and committed to her Lord. She was very active in the Turtle Lake Baptist Church and served in many capacities including, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, served as Sunday School Superintendent and church treasurer and clerk. Doris was also on the Worship team, Christian Education Board, served as the Women's WMF president and enjoyed leading a Ladies Bible Study in her home.
She is survived by her children, Wes (Delly) Lindteigen of Ruso and Fern Lindteigen of Bismarck; her granddaughters, Lindsey (Stephen) Wilson, LeAnn Lindteigen and Lizabeth Lindteigen; her great grandchildren, Emerson and Hosanna Wilson; her brother, Russell (Deloris) Makeeff of Mercer; her sister, Deloris (Dale) Howe of Minot; her sisters-in-law, Geraldine Makeeff of Mercer and Betty Makeeff of Bismarck and special friend, Darlene Sloboden of Turtle Lake. Doris is also survived by many nieces and nephews who have always been dear to her heart.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Merle in 1994; her brothers, Arnie, Perry, Myron and Raymond; her sister, Irene Severson.
