Doris I. (Biesterfeld) Binsfeld, 99, Dilworth, MN, formerly of Wilton, ND, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Serenity Assisted Living, surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wilton. Inurnment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Wilton.
Doris was born on March 29, 1919, west of Washburn, ND to Louis W. and Emma (Hock) Biesterfeld. She attended Conkling School, then went on to work on dairy farms, as a waitress in Florida, and in the laundry department at Bismarck Evangelical Hospital. On December 6, 1945, Doris married Robert John (Bob John) Binsfeld. They lived most of their lives around or in Wilton. She stayed busy as a farmer's wife, homemaker, house cleaner, Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout Leader, mending/sewing clothes, quilting, knitting, and making other crafts. Doris and Bob loved square dancing and the activities at the Wilton Senior Citizens Center. Doris moved to Dilworth in 2007 to be closer to her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved and enjoyed so much.
Left with many memories are her daughter, Jane (Jerry) Anderson of Dilworth; grandson, Bradley (Sara) Anderson of Dilworth, MN; granddaughter, Lisa (James) Mitchell of Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren, Grant & Dylan Anderson and Brady & Samantha Mitchell; her sister-in law, Jean Binsfeld of Washburn, ND; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jack, two sisters, Bernice (George) McLaughlin & Edith (Sam) Palmer), two brothers, Leo (Lorene) Biesterfeld and Leslie "Ike" (Delores "Toots") Biesterfeld, mother and father-in- law, Matt and Katie Binsfeld, brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Bob) and Myrtle Biesterfeld, and brother-in-law, Richard (Babe) Binsfeld.
