Obituary

Doreen M. Radke, age 75 of Underwood, ND, died February 13, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Underwood, ND, with the Reverend Darell Aleson officiating. Burial will be in the Underwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Goetz Funeral Home, Underwood. Visitation will continue for 1 hour before the services at the church on Tuesday.

Doreen was born on March 25, 1939 in Bismarck, the daughter of Jacob and Hilda (Keck) Rothmann. Doreen graduated from the Washburn High School in 1957 and attended Gale Airline Institute where she graduated with honors. She was the Washburn Diamond Jubilee Queen and went on to be a contestant in the Miss North Dakota Pageant. Doreen married Gary Miller on June 28th, 1958 at the Washburn United Methodist Church. Gary died January 30, 1976. Doreen later married Curt Radke on January 5, 1978 at the Underwood Baptist Church. Following their marriage, they continued to live in Underwood. During her life, she worked as the Underwood City Librarian, was a substitute mail carrier, Avon Representative, clerk at Radke's Super Value and managed and operated the farm for many years.

Doreen loved music, she also enjoyed playing the organ and piano and often played by heart. She loved the farm, gardening and photography. Doreen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending many of her grandchildren's activities. Doreen was baptized on March 18, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Underwood. Her church, her faith and her family were all very important in her life.

She will be deeply missed by her husband; Curt Radke, Underwood, ND; two daughters: DeAnn Miller and Laurel Miller (Kenneth Stadick), both of Underwood, ND; her son, Monte (Wendy) Miller, Washburn, ND; four grandchildren: Sydney and Sumner Boschert, Fargo and McKenzie and Jacob Miller, Washburn; and her sister, Mary Ellen (Doug) Parker, Washburn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband Gary.
