Donna M. Wagner, age 70 of Mercer, ND passed away March 10th, 2011 at a Bismarck hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 14th at the Mercer Community Center in Mercer with Pastor Lucas Wagner officiating.

Interment will be held at a later date in the Mercer Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at the Mercer Baptist Church and will continue Monday, one hour prior to time of service at the community center.

Donna Marie was born May 19, 1940 in Mercer, ND to Edwin & Mary (Rust) Fiedler. She grew up on the family farm five miles north of Mercer and graduated from Mercer High School in 1958. Donna attended Minot State College pursuing a teaching degree. She married Arvid A. Wagner on July 2, 1960 in Mercer. They moved to Bismarck in 1962 where she worked as a secretary for Kirschman Manufacturing. In 1966, they moved to Hillsboro, ND and rented a farm for two years. In 1971, they moved to a farm five miles west of Mercer where they raised sheep, operated a dairy, and farmed the land. She and her family moved into the town of Mercer in 1980. Donna was employed as a bookkeeper with Washburn Power & Equipment from 1986 to 2002. She also partnered with Experience Works and taught piano lessons for many years. Donna most recently served as the Mercer City Auditor and operated Donna's Daycare out of her home. She enjoyed painting, playing piano, gardening, sewing, and attending local car races. She was an active member of the Mercer Baptist Church and served as church organist, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and W.M.F. member. Donna was musically gifted and would often play music by ear. She was also a very active member of her community. She served on the Mercer Park Board, the Mercer Centennial committee, the All-Class Reunion committee, and the Mercer Community Center board. Donna enjoyed family gatherings and loved all the children she was surrounded with.

Those grateful to have shared in her life include four children, Tamara (Jeff) Schatz of Bismarck, Tim (Kim Walters) Wagner of Harvey, Tom (Julie) Wagner of Mercer, & Tonya (Curt) Wellington of Bismarck; grandchildren, Terell Wagner of Bismarck, Cordell Wagner of Harvey, Wyatt Wagner of Mercer, and one grandson on the way; honorary grandchildren, Devon Walters, Alex Walters, Sarah Walters, Tanner Walters, Aaron Walters, her daycare kids whom she dearly loved, Sophie Sparrow, Daisey Sparrow, Charlie Sparrow, Royce Wardner, Reagan Rust, Victoria Goven, & Brooke Goven;
one sister & brother-in-law, Mona & Harold Schmeets of Harvey; one brother & sister-in-law, Byron & Margie Fiedler of Mercer; two sisters-in-law (who were like sisters to her), Arlis (Curt) Brandon of Sartell, MN & Bonne (Dave) Volk of Selfridge, ND; many nieces & nephews;

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and husband Arvid in 1996.
