Donald E. Philbrick was born February 1, 1939 near Turtle Lake, ND. Don attended school in Washburn. His greatest joy and accomplishment was his business, Philbrick Excavating, which he operated for many years. Don worked hard every day and loved what he did, whether it was driving his trucks or operating his equipment. No matter the job at hand, he always found a way to accomplish it to the best of his ability. His children and grandchildren were fortunate to always witness through him the value of hard work, determination, dedication, and honesty. They thought of him as the hardest working person they will ever meet. They are proud of the strength he showed throughout his life. He never gave up.
Don is survived by his wife, Kathleen; three children, Yolanda, Miranda, & Andy; son-in-law, David Vetsch; 6 grandchildren, Sage, Cole, Cierra, & Breah Philbrick, Kyle & Kaitlyn Vetsch; one sister, Annetta (Melvin) Backman; and many nieces & nephews.
