Diana Peterson left early in the morning on August 31, 2019. She slipped out of her bedroom quietly and unannounced. She wanted no one to know. But those of us who knew her -- knew. She had a reunion to attend. An Appointment to keep. Jesus was calling her home.  Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the Washburn United Methodist Church with Pastor Cory Thrall officiating.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the church.

Born on March 16, 1937 to Clark and Leona Scoular, Diana married at 19 to Don Peterson of Ryder, ND.

Left behind was the family she loved dearly: Her husband Don, a beloved sister and companion, Deb and brother Dean and wife Verna. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Deone and Gary Emineth and their sons Austin and Zachary and wife Bethany, Jamison and Lyla; Dana and Theresa Peterson, their son, Derrick and wife Darla, Devon, Dillan, and Dannika, daughter Nichole and husband Mike and daughter Mia, daughter Erica, daughter Amanda and husband Colton; Darcy Peterson, son Wyatt and daughter Mabel; Darby and daughter Ella. She was preceded in death by a special nephew, Jerome, sister in law Delray and her best friend Bandette (a bay quarter horse mare).

She loved to learn and after two years of college, chose to be a "homemaker" and to be present for her children whether it was availability or the freedom volunteer for a school project. She took on teaching the adolescent Sunday School classes at the local church and had a special place in the lives of countless young men and women in the community.

She later received a bachelor's degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND.

If someone was down and out it was her cue to step up and in as the one to make a difference. She took several civic and church opportunities as a call from God to serve and devoted much of her time to sharing her faith with her hands outstretched and her many talents and resources deployed for the benefit of the less fortunate.

Her life was a testimony of the value she placed in having a personal relationship with God through his son Jesus Christ and shared that testimony with anyone who had a need and would listen.

So when Jesus called—she recognized his voice having the faith to believe he was preparing a place for her in heaven and she met him there. Diana was ready to go and answered the call to come.

Hers was a life well-lived and a life enjoyed.
