Diana Jans, 72, Mercer, ND died January 13, 2018 at the CHI Community Memorial Hospital, Turtle Lake. Funeral services will held 10:30 AM Wednesday January 17, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake with Pastors Sondra Krogstad and Randy Emgarten officiating. Interment will be held in the Mercer Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday at the church in Turtle Lake. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday also at the church.
Diana was born July 14, 1945 in Minot, ND the daughter of E. Duane and Clarice (Sundbakken) Nelson. She was the second of ten children. She was a great help in caring for and raising her siblings. She attended school in Benedict, Riverdale and Turtle Lake. Diana married Ervin "Bobby" Jans on August 20, 1961 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church rural Turtle Lake. Together they raised six children, Laura (Bill) Miller of Bismarck, ND, Robert (Gina) Jans of Mercer, Jerry (Tonya) Jans of Mandan, ND, David (Debbie) Jans of Wilton, ND, Janet (Terry) McFarlen of Wilton, Coni Reile (Johnny Shearry) of Mercer.
She enjoyed crocheting and was always making doilies for family and friends. Diana especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone in need and always put others first.
Diana is survived by her husband, Ervin "Bobby" Jans of Bismarck; her 6 children; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; her siblings, Clyde (Bonnie) Nelson of Turtle Lake, Gaylen Nelson of Turtle Lake, Richard (Jennifer) Nelson of Chino Lakes, AZ, Bernadine Martin of Wilton, Amy (Harlan) Helm of Deer Park, WA, Caryn (Gary) Jorgensen of McClusky, ND, Joyce (Gene) Schoenberg of Benedict, ND, Deniece Nelson of Turtle Lake; her sister-in-law Karen Nelson of Canton, PA and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Ronie Nelson and two grandsons, Eric Reile and KoltanVisitation
