Denise Charles, 61, of Minot, ND, died April 19, 2014 in a Fargo Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, April 24, 2014 at New Life Lutheran Church, Minot with Reverend Dan Chell and Reverend Shawn Bowman officiating. Burial will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:00am in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. There will be a prayer service at 7:00pm Wednesday night at the church in Minot.

Denise was born on November 6, 1952 in Maddock, ND, the daughter of Roger W. Paulson and Blanche L. Warner Paulson. Blanche married Keith Ackerman in 1967 and they raised Denise. She was raised and educated in Jamestown.   Denise graduated from Jamestown High School in 1971 and also attended Bismarck State College. She married John G. Charles on November 19, 1970 in Aberdeen, SD. Denise worked at painter, she also did wallpapering and was a Scentsy Representative. She enjoyed bowling, throwing darts, scrapbooking and spending time with her family and friends. She spent the last few winters in Florida.

She is survived by her three grandchildren: Haley, Charlize and Shane O'Connor, all of Minot, ND; son-in-law: John O'Connor, Minot, ND; nieces and nephews: Sara Mattson, Riley Ackerman, and Adair Ackerman and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John in 2008; daughter, Darcy O'Connor in 2013 and a brother, Darrin Ackerman in 2012.
