Darryl Singer, age 49 of Bismarck, ND died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, June 25th at Century Baptist Church in Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM Friday at the church.

A graveside service will take place at 2:30 PM Friday at the Turtle Lake Cemetery.

Darryl Dean Singer was born April 9, 1961 in Turtle Lake, ND to Walter and Shirley (Knight) Singer. He graduated from Turtle Lake-Mercer High School in 1979 and continued his education at the North American Baptist College in Edmonton, Alberta. He married Amy Meidinger on September 29, 1984 in Bismarck. Together they raised four sons, Steven, Bryan, Trevor and Aaron. They settled on a farm south of Turtle Lake where he and his family farmed and ranched. Darryl served on many church and community organization boards. Darryl was an avid hunter and sports fan. In November 1998, he and his family moved to Crystal Springs, ND where Darryl began his ministry as Executive Director of Crystal Springs Baptist Youth Camp. As the camp program grew, he and his family moved to Bismarck in September 2000. His work became his passion as he ministered to thousands of campers who attended camp through the years. His vision for building and expanding the camp was contagious and many worked tirelessly by his side. He desired to share with others what he felt was the most important decision he had made in his life, to accept Jesus Christ as His personal Lord and Savior. Darryl was diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2009. He passed away June 22nd quietly in his home with his family by his side.

He is survived by his wife Amy of Bismarck; four sons, Steven (Julia), Bryan, Trevor & Aaron, all of Bismarck; his parents, Walter and Shirley Singer of Turtle Lake, ND; one brother, Paul (Lynn) Singer of Turtle Lake; one sister, Janell (John Darwin) Johnson of Orion, IL; his in-laws, Al & Jan Meidinger of Bismarck; one brother-in-law, Matt (Renee) Meidinger of Mandan; one sister-in-law, Julie (Richard) Johnson of Bellingham, WA; ten nieces and nephews, Kyle, Kelsey(Torrey), Jordan(Kim), Todd, Grant, Amanda, Jennie, Joshua, Justine, & William; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Darryl was preceded in death by one infant brother and one infant sister.
