Obituary

Courtney Schuler, age 35 of Bismarck, passed away tragically on November 22nd in Perham, MN due to a head injury.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, Nov. 28th at Charity Lutheran Church in Bismarck with Pastor Scott Bauman officiating. Interment will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, south of Mandan.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home in Washburn and continue Monday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Courtney Bry Schuler was born November 13, 1976 in Bismarck, ND to Wesley & Diann (Duma) Schuler. He was raised and educated in Washburn. He attended Bismarck State College, North Dakota State University, and later graduated from Minot State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Courtney went on to receive a Master's Degree in Project Management from Capella University in Minneapolis.
He was a member of the Army National Guard and spent eight months of active duty in Kosovo. He worked in numerous positions with his latest employment with Northern Plains Capital. Courtney's infectious smile, his devilish laugh, and thirst for life will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Nearly everything he did centered around his friends and family. Courtney's outgoing personality touched the lives of everyone he met. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and traveling. Courtney's pastimes were spent camping, hiking, boating, mountain biking, skiing, and fishing.

He is survived by his mother, Diann (John) Schulz of Bismarck; his father, Wesley Schuler of Washburn; one brother, Chad Schuler of Mandan; one sister, Keana Schuler and special friend Deno Friesz of Bismarck; one nephew, Jaden Aaseth; and three nieces, Mariah Aaseth, Tanaya Aaseth, & Kennedy Retterath.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents (Albert & Emma Schuler, and Paul & Margaret Duma), uncle (Don Duma), aunt (Debbi Schuler), and a cousin (Krista Cook).
