Clayton Swope, 76, Turtle Lake, ND died August 22, 2019 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2019 with Pastor Sondra Krogstad officiating.

Clayton was born on April 11, 1943 in San Francisco, CA, the son of Leonard and Rose (Wagner) Swope. Clayton was educated in several schools in Long Beach, CA, where he and his mother Rose lived while his father was at sea in the Merchant Marines.

Following his father's retirement, they purchased a farm in Idaho and lived there for several years until they sold out and purchased a smaller farm in Thief River Falls, MN. They resided in Thief River Falls until Leonard's death and Rose was admitted to the nursing home in Underwood. Clayton sold his farm and purchased a house in Turtle Lake. He worked for local farmers and for several years he worked for the Zwicker brothers building docks.

Clayton loved to watch and talk about movies, he had a huge collection of movies.

He is survived by many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
