Clarice Nelson, 90, of Turtle Lake, ND died January 21, 2015 in the Community Memorial Hospital, Turtle Lake. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday January 24, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake. Officiating will be the Rev. Sondra Krogstad. Interment will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM and will continue 1 hour prior to the services on Saturday all at the church.

Clarice was born May 11, 1924 on a farm near Ruso, ND the daughter of Hans and Clara (Olson) Sundbakken. She had three brothers; Casper, Oscar and Clifford and four sisters; Helga, Olivia, Ellen and Lillie. Clarice married Duane Nelson on January 5, 1943 in Minot, ND. They shared 72 years of happiness. Following their marriage they lived in Minot, Benedict and Riverdale before moving to Turtle Lake in 1957. Clarice raised her family and sewed for many families. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church WELCA and the Turtle Lake Senior Citizens. Clarice enjoyed quilting, playing cards, making wedding cakes and spending time with family and friends.

Clarice is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Duane of Turtle Lake; her sons; Clyde (Bonnie) Nelson, Turtle Lake, Gaylen Nelson, Turtle Lake, Ronie (Karen) Nelson, Canton, PA, Richard (Jennifer) Nelson, Chino Valley, AZ; her daughters; Diana (Ervin) Jans, Mercer, ND, Bernadine (Lloyd) Martin, Wilton, ND, Amy (Harlin) Helm, Deer Park, WA, Caryn (Gary) Jorgensen, McClusky, ND, Joyce (Gene) Schoenberg, Benedict, ND, Deniece Nelson, Underwood, ND; 31 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and their spouses, a daughter-in-law, Dee Nelson, a great grandson and a great granddaughter.
