Christopher "Chris" Austin Ness, 51, Mandan, ND died April 21, 2021 at his residence in Mandan.  Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at First Lutheran Church, Washburn, ND with Pastor Chuck Mann officiating.  The service will be livestreamed on the First Lutheran Church of Washburn Facebook page.  Inurnment will be held in the Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.

Chris was born July 19, 1969 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Clark and Carol (Neuschwander) Ness.  He was raised and educated in Washburn where he graduated from high school in 1987.  He also attended North Dakota State School of Science where he received a degree in Diesel Mechanics.  Chris worked for Dakota Fence and Mastec in many different states.  He married Tina Marie Heier in Las Vegas, NV on July 2, 2008.  To this union Chris' pride and joy was born, a son, Andrew.  They lived in Mandan where Chris worked for Knife River as a ready mix driver right up until his death.

He truly enjoyed spending time at the farm and in the great outdoors.  He also enjoyed working with his saw mill and making hunting stands.

Chris is survived by his wife, Tina of Mandan; his son, Andrew (12) of Mandan; his step-mother, Claudette Ness of Washburn; his sisters, Stephanie Ness of Fargo, ND and Robyn Ness of Ann Arbor, MI; his uncle, Gene Ness of Washburn and his aunt Marilyn Wagner of Turtle Lake, ND and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Carol Ness.
