Chris (Eddie) Christianson, 74, of Bismarck ND, formerly of Center, ND passed away on May 22, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 7, 2024 at First Lutheran Church, Washburn, ND with Pastor Paul Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Chris was born November 16, 1949, and raised in the Washburn area by his parents Kenneth and Lettie (Fahlgren) Christianson. He joined his older sister, Ruth and later welcomed his brother, Al.
Chris graduated from Washburn High School and went onto collage at Valley City State University with a degree in Physics. While at Valley City he was the statistician for all of the college athletic programs. His heart and soul were sports and all the statistics that go with it.
Chris graduated and received his teaching certificate and spent his entire teaching career at Center, ND High School teaching math and science. He tutored many students and was well respected by his students and co-workers.
Chris was an avid collector of sports memorabilia, baseball cards were his passion and he had a fantastic collection. Chris had a thrust for knowledge, he averaged reading 4 to 5 books a week. He didn't have a defined genre; however he read anything he could get his hands on. His favorite store to shop at was Barnes and Noble.
Chris had a sharp mind and memory that can only be described as legendary.
Chris is survived by his sister-in-law, Jane Christianson; niece, Molly Sepiol and nephew, Kendall (Alexis) Christianson and his brother-in-law, Paul Weingberger.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth and brother Al.
The family asks that everyone wears their favorite sports team apparel in memory of Chris's love for sports.
Chris will always be remembered by his family and friends as a diehard Cowboys and Yankee fan as well as being an awesome Pinochle player.
