Obituary

Chad S. Tweeten, 55, of Washburn, ND, died Monday, August 11, 2025 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Washburn Baptist Church, Washburn with Pastor Kayla Buckley officiating.  Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.  There will be a remembrance service at 7:00pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the church.

Chad was born on May 15, 1970 in Turtle Lake, ND, the youngest of the children born to Sharyll (Zingg) & Clinton Tweeten.  Chad grew up on the Swanson farm which was the post office in early years, which is now the current farming headquarters.  He attended school in Turtle Lake and graduated from Turtle Lake-Mercer High School co-salutatorian in 1988.  Chad continued his education at North Dakota State University until 1999 when he came back to farm with his family.   Chad was the recipient the McLean County NDSU Harvest Bowl Award.

Chad married Bridgett Kuehner of Seattle, WA on February 26th, 2005 in Washburn.  Together they raised two sons: Ryan and Logan and a daughter, Ava Belle.

Chad truly loved farming, he appreciated the land and the surrounding beauty; he was a good steward of it.  He enjoyed reading, especially keen of the World War II era.  He loved his small- town values, state and nation.  He was raised in the Washburn Baptist Church and spoke to God often, he did believe.

Those family members grateful to have shared his life include his wife of 20 years, Bridgett Tweeten, Washburn; two sons: Ryan & Logan; daughter, Ava Belle all of Washburn; his father, Clinton Tweeten, Washburn; a sister, Barbara (Gust) Stute, Mercer, ND; a brother, Robert (Bonnie) Tweeten, Hensler, ND nephews: Cayce (Lori), Shaun and Zach Stute and Luke Tweeten.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharyll Tweeten and nephew, Clay Tweeten.
