Cecilia was born November 26, 1924 to Zacheus and Eva (Brickner) Bachmeier. She grew up on a farm in rural Strasburg. She enjoyed working on the farm and preferred to do outside work instead of being inside. She would talk about the horrible winters and how we don't even know what a real storm was. Every time she talked to Jim on the phone, she wanted to know if he had enough hay for the cows for the winter, and then she would tell us about how it was so dry when she was little that they had to cut down thistles to feed their cows. She left the farm and headed to Bismarck to attend beautician school. Once school was completed she found a job at a beauty parlor way up in Kenmare. While she was in Kenmare she met the love of her life Micky Logan. They were united in marriage on November 15, 1960 in Kenmare ND. They stayed in Kenmare for a bit before returning to Micky's hometown of New Town. They made their home in New Town and welcomed two daughters Patti and Paula. Cele was very active in the community. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary, homemakers, and study club. Cele worked at the Williamson Funeral Home with Micky. She also worked at New Town nursing home and New Town School. She also helped Micky in the funeral business where ever she was needed especially with hair. She loved to dance, golf, crochet, go on trips and Micky and Cele were die hard New Town Eagles and Minnesota Vikings fans. They attended lots of games and made sure to go on their annual Vikings trip with the Smiths. They moved to Minot where they lived for several years. During this time they welcomed their grandchildren into the world. She babysat her oldest four grandkids. She never ever drove and would walk all over super-fast! She wouldn't even let us take a shortcut. They eventually moved to Mandan where she had a beautiful yard with gorgeous flowers. She was always so proud of her flowers, she also was in charge of the funeral home flowers. Her youngest granddaughter was born around this time and she watched her. They joined Christ the King church in Mandan and went to early mass every Sunday and then out to breakfast with their grandkids and the Gartner's.
In January of 2007, Micky lost his battle with cancer. Cele moved to Wilton. She loved walking around Wilton getting her exercise in, she said that's what kept her body healthy. Once she had great-grandchildren she sure didn't want to miss out and stayed at Sadie's often for weeks or months. She sure loved all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was so proud of them. She was their biggest fan!
Cecilia will be deeply missed by her daughters, Patricia (J.D.) YoungBird, Paula (Jim) Grossman; grandchildren, Sadie Grace (Ed) YoungBird-Basurto, James YoungBird, Callie Logan YoungBird (Jordon Schumacher), Garrett (Monica) Grossman; great-grandchildren, Mark YoungBird-Basurto, Dylan YoungBird-Basurto, SadieBelle YoungBird-Basurto, Hadleigh YoungBird-Basurto, Hudson Schumacher, Jack Grossman; and many nieces and nephews.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her husband, Lester "Micky" Logan; parents, Zacheus and Eva Bachmeier; granddaughter, Katelyn Grossman; brothers, John Bachmeier, Tony Bachmeier, Edwin Bachmeier; sisters, Rose Brown, Gertrude Paul, Alvina Nagel; and two brothers who died at infancy.
