Obituary

Carol G. Oie, age 77 of Underwood, ND died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake, ND.

Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Monday, May 7, 2007;
St. John's Lutheran Church - Underwood, ND;
Rev. Dean Hartley, Officiating;

Interment: 3:00 PM Monday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery - Mandan, ND;

Visitation: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home - Underwood;
Monday, 1 hour prior to time of service at the church.

Carol was born November 29, 1929 at Underwood, ND the daughter to Rev. Lorenz & Alma (Ohrenberg) Weber. She was raised in Underwood and graduated from Underwood High School in 1947. Carol continued her education at North Dakota State University in Fargo for 2 years. She returned to Underwood to work as a clerk for the Evander Drug Store. In 1968, the store changed ownership and Carol became employed as manager of the Chase Drug Store until its closing in 1992. She married Donald J. Oie on October 25, 1975 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Underwood, the church in which her father served as Pastor for 26 years. Carol proudly maintained a "Precious Moments" and "Snoopy" collection for many years. Her husband Don passed away in January 2001. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, serving as church Treasurer for many years and participating in Bible Study groups.

She is survived by her sister, Joan (John) Larson of Kenmare, ND; two nieces, Cathy (David) McDermott of Minot, ND, & Diane (Steve) Rinell of Bryan, OH; two nephews, Tim (Judy) Larson of Turtle Lake, ND, & Keith Larson of Kenmare, ND; two great nieces, Sarah (fiancé Marc Fremming) Larson & Megan Larson; four great nephews, Blake Rinell, Scott Rinell, Justin McDermott, & Jacob Larson; two great-great nieces, Sidney Larson & Avery Fremming.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Donald), sister (Elaine Shotwell), & brother (Eugene Weber).
