Carol Myers, age 64 of Washburn, ND died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Medcenter One Health Systems in Bismarck.

Visitation: 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home in Underwood;
Monday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Carol Ann was born March 15, 1945 at Grand Rapids, MI to Edward & Patricia (Jimo) Rode. She attended elementary school in Michigan and moved with her family to Friendship, WI. She graduated from high school in Friendship, WI and later moved to Chicago, IL where she worked as a waitress. While living in Chicago, she also worked at a Maytag appliance factory along with her mother. Carol married Judd Myers on February 12, 1973 in Thief River Falls, MN. They lived in Park River, ND until moving to Washburn in 1977. Carol managed the Heritage Heights Apartment complex in Washburn for many years. She and Judd also maintained the rest area south of Washburn on Highway 83 for several years. Carol held a passion for collecting dolls. She also enjoyed cooking, ceramics, shopping, and bowling. Carol loved working outdoors and riding her lawn mower. Her confidence and determination never allowed her health issues to slow her down. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her special friend, Betty Jensen. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Underwood.

She is survived by her husband, Judd Myers of Washburn; two daughters, Tammy (Beau) Massey & Jolene Myers, both of Mandan; one son, Jason (Tami) Myers of Mandan; six grandchildren, Kayla, Kordell, Brandon, Zachary, Daniel, & Catherine; and several nieces & nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters (Betty & Joany Huron), & one brother (Joey Huron).

Carol's family would like to thank the staff of Medcenter One Health Systems and Pastor Dean Hartley for the loving kindness and care they have shared during Carol's illness.
