Carol J. Miller, 75, of Bismarck, formerly of Washburn, ND, died March 4, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Friday, March 10th at St. Edwin's Catholic Church in Washburn with Fr. Patrick Cunningham as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at St. Edwin's Catholic Church with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service.
Carol was born February 5, 1942 in Rugby, ND to Harry & Anna (Eisenzimmer) Zacher. She was raised in Maddock, ND where she graduated from high school in 1960. Carol married William "Bill" Miller on October 5, 1960 at St. William Catholic Church in Maddock. In 1967, they moved to Washburn where they raised their family. Carol served as a Cub Scouts leader and provided a daycare in her home for many years. She served on the Washburn Volunteer Ambulance Dept. for several years. Carol enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing pinochle, and taking trips with her grandchildren. Her husband Bill passed away in August 2012 and she later moved to Bismarck in 2014.
She is survived by one daughter, Lori (Paul) Hardy of Underwood; 4 sons, Barry of West Fargo, Don of Washburn, Tim (Dina) of Bismarck, & Dean (fiancé Brenda) of West Fargo; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Curt) Larson of Tucson, AZ, & Angie (Don) Ziegler of Devils Lake; one brother, Dennis "Butch" (Kathy) Zacher of Devils Lake; mother-in-law, Josephine Miller of Drake, ND; sister-in-law, Vicky Buckmeier of Devils Lake; and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son (Todd), grandson (T.J. Larson), 2 brothers (Lloyd & Ronald), father-in-law (Constantine), & sister-in-law (Bernadine).
