Carol Winifred Bushey, age 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at her home in Bismarck under the care of hospice.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 25th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (Washington St. & Divide) in Bismarck.

Carol was born in Lodi, CA on July 1, 1924 to Herman & Laura (Peterson) Wiese. She grew up in Washburn and graduated from Washburn High School in 1942. She then attended Valley City State Teachers College where she received her teaching certificate. While attending college, she met Lawrence Bushey, who was in the Navy V-12 program. They were married on August 4, 1945.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Bushey of Bismarck; two sons, Bruce (Phoebe) Bushey of Tucson, AZ, & Jon Bushey of Salt Lake City, UT; one daughter, Lauri Desir of Bismarck; eleven grandchildren, Matthew Bushey, Mark Bushey, Jaqi (Terry) McNeil, Amy Bushey, Christopher Bushey, Paul Bushey, Michael Bushey, Bruce Bushey, Jason Bushey, Samuel Desir, & Joseph Desir; and two great grandsons, Robert Luke & Cade.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, one son (Robert), two brothers (James & Harold Wiese), two sisters (Ruth Lutz & Joy Scholl).

Inurnment will take place in the spring at Riverview Cemetery in Washburn, where four generations of Carol's family are now placed to rest.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Shiloh Christian School or the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
