Brenda L. Herring, age 56 of Bismarck, ND died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake, ND following a struggle with cancer.

Military Rites provided by the American Legion Post #133 of Turtle Lake.

Visitation: 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM Wednesday at Goetz Funeral Home - Turtle Lake
Thursday, one hour prior to funeral service at the church

Brenda Lee Herring was born October 1, 1950 at Bismarck, ND, the daughter to LeRoy and Mildred (Bergo) Herring. She attended rural school for several years and later graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1968. Brenda continued her education at Minot State University for a short time before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1972. She served as a dental technician at the Naval Dental Center in San Diego, CA. Brenda was honorably discharged on March 28, 1975. She lived in Oklahoma and was employed as an administrative assistant at the Tinker Air Force Base before returning to Turtle Lake, ND to raise her two children. In 1991, she moved to Bismarck, ND where she became employed with the Vocational Education Division of the North Dakota Department of Education. Brenda was active in the state office of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and took great pride in her FFA achievements. She enjoyed scrap booking and was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Bismarck, the American Legion Post #133 of Turtle Lake, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Ned) Kautzman of Redmond, WA;
son, Scott (Shelly) Webb of Bismarck, ND; mother, Mildred Herring of Turtle Lake, ND;
brothers, Richard (Marlys) Herring of Casselton, ND, & Joel (Gayle) Herring of Nashville, TN; one granddaughter, Reese Kautzman; & many nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father (LeRoy Herring).
