Obituary

Brandon Koenig, 45, of Parker, CO, formerly of Riverdale, ND, died Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at his residence. A celebration of life will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Riverdale High Lodge with Valerie Sayler officiating.

Brandon Michael Koenig was born in Bismarck, ND, to Mark and Kim (Wachendorf) Koenig. Raised in Riverdale, ND, Brandon spent his childhood exploring his small town and building friendships that would last a lifetime. He attended Riverdale Elementary School and later graduated from Underwood High School in 1998. After high school, Brandon attended Bismarck State College, where he completed the Electrical Lineworker (Lineman) training program.

In the early years of his career, Brandon's work as a lineman took him across Minnesota, North Dakota, Wyoming, and beyond, eventually leading him to settle into his second home—Colorado.

Throughout his journey, whether in school, college, working as a lineman, or living in Colorado—Brandon developed countless friendships. Memories of Brando often include his infectious laugh, big bear hugs, mentorship in the lineman trade, legendary one-liners, generous heart, his tidbits of unknown facts, and his natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Brando's greatest passion was being a lineman. He took immense pride in the work he did and all that he accomplished in his career. Outside of work, he loved snow skiing, golfing, water skiing, lake life, spending time with friends, and being with family.

Grateful to have shared his life are his parents, Mark and Kim Koenig of Riverdale, ND; his siblings, Heather Koenig of Bismarck, ND, and Kris (Abigail) Koenig of Buena Vista, CO; and the joys of his life—his nephews Campbell, Greyson, and Briggs Koenig of Buena Vista, his loving girlfriend, Sonja Redmond, and her son Redik of Bismarck, ND; many aunts, uncles, beloved cousins, and countless dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Rose Koenig and Morris and Carol Wachendorf; and one aunt, Cindy Sullivan.
