Bonnie Joy Kuntz, 88, Washburn, ND, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2018 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, ND. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 3, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Birka Lutheran Church rural Washburn with Pastor Anna Haugen officiating. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Family will be receiving friends on Monday April 2, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. all at Goetz Funeral Home in Washburn.

Birka Lutheran Church is west of the town of Falkirk.  Take highway 83 to Falkirk and turn west going into Falkirk and follow the pavement through Falkirk. The pavement will end (look for Birka Lutheran Church sign in ditch) turn left and go 4/10 of a mile south (look for Birka Lutheran Church sign in south ditch) turn right and go 7 1/2 miles west to the church.

Bonnie was born in Washburn on October 14, 1929 to Theodore and Palma Soderstrom. She grew up in the Washburn area with her loving parents.  She worked for the State of ND in the capital building doing data entry until she retired in 1991. Bonnie married the blue-eyed love of her life, Fred Kuntz in 1953.

Bonnie was very active in the lives of her granddaughters and took great pride in helping to raise them. Often times taking them to the swimming pool and attending athletic events. She was known for her deep compassion towards others and her helping hand in the Birka Lutheran Church. Bonnie was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary along with her best friend Dorothy Schulz. She enjoyed her time outside gardening, boating with her family, and playing with her son's dog, Shunka.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Duane (Lynnette) Kuntz from Mandan, ND; her grandchildren, Tasha Guerrero from Albuquerque, NM, Melanie (Tyson) Schwab from Mandan, ND, and Jamie (Logan) Pritchard from Bismarck, ND; her great-grandchildren, Tavian Guerrero (16), Luis Guerrero (10), Cruz Guerrero (6), Noah Guerrero (2), Bristol Schwab (1), Corbin Pritchard (2) and Kendall Pritchard (7 months).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Kuntz and her parents, Theodore and Palma Soderstrom.
