Beverly Ewine, 82, of Wilton, ND died June 4, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck. Honoring Bev's wishes a private family services and burial will be held.
Beverly Joyce Ewine was born to Jack and Sophie (Waltos) Ewine on December 26, 1932 in Bismarck, ND. She attended country school just west of the farm through the 8th grade. She graduated from Wilton High School in 1952.
Bev was happiest when she was working in the service industry and she spent many years tending bar at the American Legion, the Gourmet House and the Holiday Inn in Bismarck. For the past 15 years, she worked at the Wilton Senior Center, assisting with the Meals on Wheels Program.
Bev devoted her life to her pets – there was never a time she didn't have at least two Chihuahuas. She kept them warm in sweaters long before it was trendy. Her dogs, Gypsy and Paco, are no doubt, feeling the loss.
Bev was an independent women in a time when that wasn't the norm. She was up for an adventure and although she never had children, she often had nieces and nephews following along. Bev's Catholic faith was important to her and she was a long time member of the Sacred Heart Parish in Wilton, recently serving as a Eucharistic Minister.
Bev's love of animals – especially horses and dogs, was evident to all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, Bev requested donations be made to the Central Dakota Humane Society, Triple-H Horse Rescue and her beloved Vet, Dr. Blaine at Interstate Vet Clinic in Mandan.
Bev is survived by her brother and sister-in-law: Dennis and Claudia Ewine, Wilton, ND; her sister-in-law: Alice Ewine, Bismarck, ND; nieces and nephews: Sheri (Paul) Ocampo, Renee (Waylon Hedegaard) Ewine, Michelle (Dan) Gardiner, Jackie (Dave) Andahl, John (Jamine) Ewine, Danny (Renee) Sims, Mike (Marica) Sims, Brady Sims, Deon Ewine, Cristin (James) Lawson, Dawn (Keith) Tschetter, Cory Ewine and many cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Jack and Sophie, her sister, Audrey, and her brother, John and his first wife Betty.
