Obituary

Arnold G. Boyko, age 89 of rural Ruso, ND died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison, ND.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 14 at the Turtle Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church with Rev. Darrel Lindensmith, officiating.

Arnold was born April 23, 1920 at rural Ruso, ND to Harry & Mary (Polachuk) Boyko. He was raised in the rural Ruso area and attended the Greatstone Township School finishing the 8th grade. Arnold married Stella Fischer on June 26, 1944 in Butte, ND. Together they made their home on a farm near Ruso, ND where he farmed and raised cattle. He was a member of the Turtle Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served as a church elder for many years. Arnold was a man of many talents, working as a welder, carpenter, electrician, inventor, and mechanic. He enjoyed family gatherings and camp meetings. Arnold also enjoyed attending old-fashioned steam shows.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Stella Boyko of rural Ruso, ND; two sons, Glenn (Judy) Boyko of Collegedale, TN, & Al (Nadine) Boyko of Yucaipa, CA; one daughter, Ardyth Boyko of Martinsburg, WV; one brother, Maynard (Della Mae) Boyko of Ruso, ND; three sisters, Elsie (Stanley) Krupsky of Fullerton, ND, Jeanette Martin of Minot, ND, Arlene (Paul) Zablotney of Ogden, UT; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, & nephews.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Donald & Edwin), one sister (Delores), and two grandchildren.
