Obituary

Anton "Tony" N. Krush, 93, formerly of Wilton, ND died October 27, 2023 at Edgewood Assisted Living, Mandan under the care of his family and hospice.  Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Sunne Lutheran Church, rural Wilton.

Anton (Tony) Krush was born May 25th, 1930 in Mandn, ND to Nick and Anastacia (Kanski) Krush.  He was welcomed into a family of 7 older sisters.  He lived his entire life in Wilton with the exception of a brief stint in Montana.  He attended country school outside of Wilton and Wilton High School where he played basketball and football.  Tony had a lifetime love of horses and in his younger years enjoyed working with his team putting up hay and taking bundles of grain to the thresher during harvest time. Tony took over the responsibilities of the farm at the young age of 14 when his father experienced a stroke. He continued to raise cattle, put up hay, and farm well into his 70's.

He married Rose Kunkel on June 7, 1958 in Mandan, ND.  Rose and Tony made a life on the farm for over 60 years.  Daughter Barbara was born in 1960 and son Nick was born in 1962.  Tony was a long time member of the Sunne Lutheran Church and served on the Church Council. He was well-known in the Wilton community as he was a regular visitor at the Farmer's Union Elevators and more recently at the Wilton Cenex.

Tony is survived by Rose his wife of 65 years; his daughter, Barbara (Richard) Lies; his son, Nick (Joy) Krush; grandchildren, Adrian (Amanda) Lies; Eric (Kelly) Lies; Alex (Amy) Lies; Harrison Lies; Zach (Kennedie Boehm) Krush; and Katarina Krush (Keith Bride); 9 great grandchildren, his brother-in-law, Allen (Jane) Kunkel and numerous nieces and nephews all who experienced many whisker rubs. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. Tony may have had a gruff voice, but he had a heart of gold as demonstrated by bringing "Rosie" the first crocus of spring.

Tony was preceded in death by his sisters Pearl (Clyde) Thompson, Sue Cook, Eva (Whitney) Wright, Katherine (Ed) Rundquist, Pauline (Kenneth) Johnson, Frances Krush, and Delores (Paul) Baranick.
