Ann Shearer, 94, formerly of Wilton, ND died December 8, 2016 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wilton, ND with Father Frank Schuster officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck, ND. The family will greet family and friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Ann was born on Oct 3. 1922, north of Wilton, ND in rural McLean County. She was the daughter of Wasyl and Peral (Polensky) Mattis. She was raised and educated in the Wilton area. She married John Shearer of Wilton May 1, 1943. They made their home on the Shearer family farm near Wilton. John died on Oct. 13, 1990. Ann remained on the family farm until January of 2014 when she moved to Harvey.

She enjoyed living on the farm, gardening and canning.

She is survived by one son Trenton (Susan) of Harvey, ND and one daughter Brenda (Dick) Fahlsing of Anchorage, Alaska; 3 grandchildren, Eric Makkeef, Nicholas Shearer and Alison Shearer; one step-grandson and 2 great grandchildren.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1990, a brother Paul Mattis and a sister, Martha Brezden.
