Alden "Al" A. Pochant, 77, Bismarck, ND died October 31, 2019 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck with Pastor Randy Emgarten officiating. Inurnment will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday at the Coleharbor Cemetery, Coleharbor, ND with Pastor Curt Hanson officiating. The family will greet family and friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Al was born December 1, 1941 in Minot, ND the son of Harry and Ilora (Seney) Pochant. He was raised and educated in Coleharbor. Al farmed and was a welder his entire life. He married Myrtle Soderquist and with this union he adopted two children, Robin and Arlen. They lived in Coleharbor until moving to Bismarck. Myrtle died in 1999 and Al continued to live in Bismarck. He then married Florence (Foster) Brunner in 2003 in Reno, NV. They resided north of Bismarck.
He enjoyed reading, visiting and having coffee with his buddies at the Marlins truck stop.
Al is survived by his wife, Florence of Bismarck; his children, Arlen Pochant and Robin Pochant both of St. Louis, MO; 4 grandchildren; Florence's daughter, Lwlebell Diede and her daughter, Megan Diede; his brothers, Harry Jr. (Virginia) Pochant of Coleharbor and Robert "Skinny" (Pat) Pochant of Pick City, ND; his sisters, Marlene (Ron) Molzahn of Minot and Lois Hummel of Lewistown, ID and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Myrtle; his brothers, Henry "Hank" Pochant and DuWayne "Dukes" Pochant Sr.; Florence's son, Ted Brunner and son-in-law, Dean Diede.
