Agnes E Berg, 96 of Underwood returned to her heavenly home February 26, 2024 with her family by her side. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Underwood, ND with Pastor Randy Emgarten officiating. Interment will be held in the Underwood Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the church in Underwood. The funeral service will be livestreamed at the bottom of Agnes' obituary on this page.
Agnes was born September 16, 1927 in Underwood, ND. She was the daughter of Ed and Rose Shere. She had 8 siblings. Agnes began working at Evanders drugstore in high school and continued to work there until 1989. During that time, she married the love of her life Melvin Berg on July 20, 1947 at Augustana Lutheran church. They had two children, Miles and Crystal.
In 1989, Melvin and Agnes began M & A gemstones. This venture allowed them to attend many craft shows selling their jewelry and crafts. Before really diving into the gemstone work, Agnes enjoyed painting, drawing, photography, hunting, cooking and babysitting. She was an active member of her church that included teaching Sunday school and making quilts. She was a member of the Central Dakota gem and mineral society in Bismarck and the Washburn Civic Art Club.
Agnes was a kind hearted and generous wife, mother, and grandmother. She was loved by everyone she knew. She constantly nurtured, prayed and cared for all of her loved ones. She was a fiesty spirit with faith, grace and determination that made this world a better place for everyone.
Agnes is survived by her son, Miles (Sherry) Berg of Niantic, CT; a foster child Cheri (Sem) Heit; a sister Loraine George of Osburn, Id; her grandchildren, Justin Berg, Jody (Cory) Fylling, Kelly (Noah) Ekstrom, Michael (Jennifer) Granlie, Kristi (Pete) Moch, Crystal (Ron) Tooker, Jasmine (Louis) Zubek; her great-grandchildren, Dominic, Jalen, River, Maddix, Coltyn, Gracyn, Avery, Evan, Liam, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Crystal Albrecht and 7 siblings, Harry, Marie Smith, Lucille, Iva Johnson, Harry, Edward, and Elmer.
