Obituary

Adele V. Kesselring, age 89 of Washburn, ND died Thursday, April 03, 2008 at the Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood, ND.

Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Monday, April 7, 2008;
United Methodist Church – Washburn, ND;
Rev. Galen Kauffman, Officiating

Interment: Riverview Cemetery – Washburn

Visitation: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home – Washburn;
Monday, one hour prior to time of service at the church.

Adele was born May 16, 1918 at Washburn, ND the daughter of Arthur J. & Rose (Thorstenson) Tjenstrom. She attended rural school and graduated from Washburn High School in 1936. Adele continued her education at the Rapid City Business College for one year. She returned to Washburn and worked at the McLean County Courthouse. She married Harry Kesselring on October 1, 1940 at Washburn. The couple made their home on a farm northwest of Washburn for many years. Harry passed away in January 1981. Adele continued to live on the farm until becoming a resident of the Prairieview Nursing Home in December 2007. At the age of 65, she became a sales representative for Mary Kay products and sold cosmetics for 20 years. Adele was a member of the United Methodist Church of Washburn and served as Secretary/Treasurer for several years. She enjoyed crocheting and photography. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren & great grandchildren's sporting and musical events.

She is survived by two daughters, Coleen (Tom) Schulz of Washburn, & Claudia Loughlin of Weatherford, TX; one son, Curtis (Deborah) Kesselring of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Ruth (Darren) McLachlan and children Shelby & Jordan of Minneapolis, MN, Shari (Dave) Isaak and children Grant & Victor of Fargo, ND, Jason (Christine) Kesselring and son Otto of Fargo, ND, Lt. Brian Kesselring of Fallon, NV, Pecos (Catherine) Loughlin and son Lane of Houston, TX; one brother, Charles (Wanda) Tjenstrom of Bismarck, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Harry), & one brother (James).
