Dillon M. Longnecker

Dillon Longnecker, age 19 of Mercer, ND died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Trinity Medical Center in Minot due to injuries sustained in a vehicle-pedestrian accident.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, July 5th at the Turtle Lake Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday at Goetz Funeral Chapel in Turtle Lake.

Dillon was born January 24, 1993 in St. Cloud, MN to Antonio Forgey & Angie Longnecker. He graduated from Turtle Lake-Mercer High School in 2011. While in school, Dillon participated in basketball, football, and played the drums in band. He was active in 4-H, the North Central Horse Association, and the Roughrider Saddle Club. Dillon loved to train horses and study Hippology. In November 2011, he entered Basic Training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC, with the Army National Guard and received his Advance Individualized Training at Fort Lee, VA, in February 2012. Dillon served in the North Dakota Army National Guard Reserve as a Private First Class. Dillon enjoyed rodeos and horse shows, hunting, fishing, working on vehicles, and off-road driving with his mom’s truck. He was a member of the Mercer Volunteer Fire Department since September 2010.

He is survived by his mother, Angie Longnecker-Hansen of Mercer, ND; his father, Antonio Forgey of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Kala Hansen, Lacey Hansen, & Brandy Dieterle, all of Mercer; his grandmothers, Cindy Longnecker of Lacey, WA, & Sharon Forgey of Bremerton, WA; uncles & aunts, Robert Forgey of California, “Poppa” Roy (Jan) Weber of Cold Spring, MN, & Connie (John) Swanson of Roseville, MN; and many other close friends & family members.
